Common implementation

A common implementation of Profdoc is to have several laboratories working towards the same database. Registration is only made once and then the samples are forwarded to the appropriate destination. Built-in decision support simplifies the arrival of the sample at the laboratory. A major benefit of several laboratories working in the same sys tem is the possibility of sharing information.

However, to simplify matters each laboratory views only the data necessary for their own needs. Profdoc is known for its high level of reliability, and is constructed for 24-hour availability.

Functionality

Profdoc contains functionality for receiving electronic requisitions and sending electronic replies. Other features of Profdoc are advanced reply functionality, configurable methods, schedules and timing. A standard interface is used for input and out put of data.

Quality and security

To maintain the highest levels of quality and security Profdoc keeps an audit trail of changes made in the system. Each user has his or her own electronic signature, which is recorded against every transaction. Changes to results and sample data can be traced back over time.
