Information sharing

Profdoc's information sharing service is founded on years of experience in developing segment specific solutions for the whole continuum of healthcare, and on several on-going projects in Scandinavia.

It is a concept that consists of a number of modules that can be customized – and complete new ones might be added - for specific organizations and government bodies.

Profdoc's solution is a service platform where access to information is based on a sophisticated access system on top of relevant communication services. All data is either stored directly in a centralized database or is retrieved in real-time from the healthcare providers’ local databases using a centralized index server.

Healthcare providers can access information through a dedicated www-service, or integrate the information seamlessly with their local Practice Management System, Hospital Information System etc. through webservices.

Examples of information sharing service services that can be customized and developed for healthcare providers are:

Patient Summary

  • Patient identity and demographics
  • Warnings (allergies, oversensitivity etc.)
  • Medication list
  • Laboratory analysis results
  • Discharge/treatment summaries.
  • Healthcare provider contacts
  • Planned treatments/activities

Patient services

  • Appointment booking
  • Prescription renewal
  • Review case record information (if so permitted by legislation)

Provider Workflow Information

  • Capacity utilization
  • Appointments and scheduling/waiting lists
  • Referrals and orders

Profdoc information sharing service deployment

Profdoc's information sharing service can be offered as a service owned and operated by Profdoc or by the healthcare organization itself.

The service may be implemented on a regional basis or even on a national scale. Any commission of such a solution will require significant local adaptations to the specific healthcare economy in question. Profdoc can serve a broad range of needs such as:

  • Turn-key deliveries on regional or national scale
  • Management and operation of service delivery
  • Deliveries of application sub-systems, framework, etc.
  • Implementation, rollout support and project management.
