Patient attributes

The patient attributes is a module in Profdoc where common information about the patient is registered. Here you will find names, addresses, telephone numbers, different contacts, special warnings and other relevant information.

The patient attributes are shared by all the modules in the system, so that this information only needs to be registered once in order to be used by the different parts of the system.

General

Under the tab ‘general’ you will find information about patient ID-numbers, date of birth, names, addresses, telephone numbers, insurance and reimbursement codes etc. If a patient has had several identities, these are also shown here. Only users with special authorization can register linked identities.

Central population registers

Where applicable, Profdoc communicates with central population registers and retrieves the centrally stored information during registration of a new patient. This information is subsequently stored in the Profdoc database and can be read under the tab ‘NR-information’.

Subsequently for that patient, the system acts as a buffer for the central register and the patient information is retrieved directly from the Prodoc TC database instead of from the central register. Should the information become outdated, Profdoc can search for new information in the central register and automatically update the local database.

Related persons

Here, all related persons to the patient are registered, e.g. relatives, family doctor, district nurse etc.

Warnings

Warnings about oversensitivity and deceased patients are registered under this tab. If any information is registered here, a warning symbol will be clearly displayed to alert the user.

Miscellaneous

Here, the possibility exists to register additional patient information, for example living conditions, birth weight, disabilities, spoken languages etc.

Link with terminology index

The patient attributes are linked to the Profdoc terminology index. This makes it simple for the system administrator to create new information items under the various tabs and fields within patient attributes.

Print

The patient attributes can be printed on paper if needed.

ID cards

Special ID cards can also be created from the patient attributes. Since there exists many different technical solutions for this purpose, Profdoc will be adapted to the specific ID card solution required.
