Booking
The booking module is used to request or schedule consultations. A booking can be made by care personnel in the departments and wards, by the patient himself or by another legal person (for example the authorities).
The booking module manages the whole process of a request for care, from the creation of a referral, assessment, booking, activity planning and discharge documentation.
How is a booking created?
A booking can be created in many different ways based on where the booking originates.
- Within Profdoc. If the booking is made from a care provider inside Profdoc, it is generated and processed electronically within the system.
- From a different system. If the requesting care provider uses a different system, the booking can be sent via XML-message (EDI
- Through web schema. If the requesting party does not have a booking system (e.g. the patient himself), it is possible to use a web schema in any web browser which again communicates with Profdoc through the Internet module.
- Via paper. If a booking is requested in a paper referral, this will be typed in and registered in Profdoc and handled thereafter as any electronic booking from within the system.
Arrival
Each ward and care unit has an ‘inbox’ for bookings. When a booking has been duly registered it is placed in this inbox. From the inbox screen, the user has full control over all entries which are new, ongoing or have been completed.
Assessment
During assessment, it is possible to book the patient directly and place a request on the waiting list, pass a request on to another unit or reject the booking.
Answer/discharge
When the patient treatment has been completed, and answer/discharge letter is written in Profdoc. The discharge letter can be sent electronically within Profdoc or externally to the referring institution via XML-message (EDI).
